Wilmette’s Indoor Tennis Center to Reopen Sept. 28

Wilmette officials say the $1.8 million repair at the Centennial Park and Recreation Complex is on schedule, Chicago Tribune reported.

Wilmette’s indoor tennis center, which was partially damaged in the mid-April storm, is on scheduled to reopen Sept. 28, but the $1.8 million repair at the Centennial Park and Recreation Complex has been anything but easy, the Chicago Tribune reports.

So far, Lambrecht’s team brought in engineers to help plan the best way to rebuild the new east wall without destroying the adjacent pool deck, fix structural weaknesses on the tennis club’s north wall, among other things, Wilmette Life reported.

Insurance is expected to cover most of the repair work, except the north wall work, which means the 2013 capital budget won’t be impacted as much as it could have been, Wilmette Life reported.
