Woman Drives Car into Wilmette Building
She wasn't hurt but the Plaza del Lago shopping center sustained significant damage on
WILMETTE — An 80-year-old Winnetka woman pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake and drove her car into a column at the Plaza del Lago shopping center in Wilmette on Friday. She wasn't hurt, but the column and the front of the building crashed down on her car outside the Taco Lago restaurant on Sheridan Road.
