Woman Robs Harris Bank in Wilmette

The following is from the Wilmette Police Department:

On Tuesday October 14th, at 11:52 a.m., the Wilmette Police Department responded to a hold-up alarm at Harris Bank. It was learned that a lone offender entered the bank demanding cash from a teller. The offender implied she had a gun but no gun was displayed. And unknown amount of US Currency was taken.

The offender was described as an African American female, 5’3 in height, heavy build, in her early twenties. She was wearing a red colored hooded sweatshirt. She was last observed running north bound on Sheridan from the scene.

The Wilmette Police and the FBI are conducting an investigation.
