New Trier, Niles North Square Off In Boys Soccer Sectional Semifinals
The No. 1-seeded New Trier High School Trevians are set to face the No. 4 Niles North High School Vikings Tuesday at Glenbrook South.
GLENVIEW, IL — The two regional champions of this fall's Central Suburban League boys soccer season face off this week in sectional semifinals in Glenview.
The New Trier High School Trevians, who defeated Glenbrook North Friday by a score of 2-1 to top the CSL-South division, and Niles North High School Vikings, who notched an 2-1 overtime victory over Taft High School, are competing for a spot in Friday's sectional championship and a shot at the IHSA Class 3A state championships.
New Trier and Niles North are scheduled to play at 5 p.m. Tuesday on the campus of Glenbrook South High School. The Trevians are seeded No. 1 in the sectional bracket, while the Vikings are No. 4.

Their matchup is due to be followed at 7 p.m. by Lane Tech High School (No. 8) against Oak Park River Forest High School (No. 3.) The winner of that game will face the winner of the New Trier-Niles North matchup at 5 p.m. Friday, also at Glenbrook South.
New Trier (16-1-5) has only lost one game this season, dropping an early-season tournament matchup against Lyons Township High School.

And Niles North (20-2-3) has won eight games in a row heading into Tuesday's semifinal.
The Trevians and the Vikings drew in their previous matchup this year, with each team notching second-half goals in Skokie to end with a 1-1 tie.
The winner of Friday's Glenbrook South sectional will play the winner of the Buffalo Grove sectional on Nov. 1. This year's Class 3A state championship semifinals are set for Nov. 4 in Hoffman Estates, followed by the title game and 3rd place match on Nov. 5.
