Northfield Blotter: Hit and Run, Purse Stolen from Home
From thieves passing up on GPS and iPass to driving while intoxicated, these are the latest police blotters from the Northfield Police Department.

Purse Stolen from Home

A purse containing cash and credit cards was stolen from a home in the 00 to 100 block of Long Meadow Road on Oct. 3. The victim told police she was outside gardening and had left the purse by the rear patio. When she went to retrieve the purse, it was missing. The back door was unlocked. The damage was estimated to be under $500.Â
Burglary from Motor Vehicle

Two pairs of sunglasses, gift cards, two iPhone chargers, CDs and vehicle registration were lifted from a car parked in the 600 block of Laurie Lane during the evening of Oct. 4. The total damage was estimated at $325. An iPass and Garmen GPS in plain view were left in the vehicle.Â
A wallet containing credit cards, drivers and fishing licenses were taken from a car parked in the 600 block of Brier Lane during the overnight hours of Oct. 4. The damage was estimated at $175. A radar detector, center consol and workbag were left in the vehicle.Â
Hit and Run
An unknown vehicle struck the south guardrail and end cap in the 200 block of Old Willow Road. The public works department discovered yellow marking on the guardrail and notified police on Oct. 8. The damage is estimated to be greater than $1,500.Â
DUI
Marianne L. Majerus, 53, of 645 Paddock, Wheeling, was arrested Oct. 7 for driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level over .08 and cited for improper lane usage. Police observed her crossing the centerline in the 1900 block of Willow Road and stopped her in the 2400 block of Willow Road. She was released on a $1,500 iBond and issued an Oct. 31 court date.Â
Violation of Order
Elizabeth T Andrews, 51, of 765 N. Happ Rd., was arrested Oct. 2 for violating an protection order after police responded to a call of an intoxicated female in the 700 block of N. Happ Rd. Andrews was aware of the protection order that prohibits her to be at the residence while intoxicated. She was taken to bond hearing and issued an Oct. 18 court date.Â
Suspended Drivers License
Christopher J. Koenig, 43, of 2727 Pine Grove, Chicago, was arrested Oct. 5 for driving while license suspended and speeding following a traffic stop in the 00 block of S. Happ Road. He was released on a $1,500 iBond and issued an Oct. 31 court date.Â
