Two Bikes Stolen in Winnetka; Graffiti on Underpass Walls

Identity Theft
A victim on the 800 block of Cherry St. reported that on June 22, an unknown offender(s) used her American Express card to make unauthorized purchases on her account, police reports state. The amount of loss is reported at $39.99.Ā
Traffic Arrest
Melissa J. Hernandez, 19, of Chicago is being charged with driving without a valid driver's license, police reports state. Hernandez was also cited for speeding. The incident occurred on June 25 on the 1000 block of Tower Rd.Ā
Theft
A victim on the 700 block of Sheridan Rd. reported that on June 23, an unknown offender(s) removed her unsecured bicycle from the bike rack, police reports state. The bike is described as a girl's purple Schwinn 20" 21 speed. The amount of loss is reported at $150.Ā
Criminal Damage
An officer discovered that an unknown offender(s) spray painted graffiti on the underpass walls of the Green Bay Trail at Pine St., police reports state. Pens and markers were also used to write graffiti on the east and west side walls. Public works was notified for removal, which will cost $300.Ā
Theft
A victim at New Trier High School discovered that on June 27, an unknown offender(s) removed his unsecured bicycle from the bike rack, police reports state. The bike was described as a white boy's GT bicycle with red and black accents and a blue lock. The amount of loss is reported at $400.Ā
