3 Arrested, 57 Drivers Ticketed During Holiday Crackdown In Woodridge
Woodridge's 2025-26 holiday safety campaign wrapped Monday.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Police in Woodridge arrested three people and handed out 57 tickets during a traffic safety campaign that ran through Jan. 5.
Of the tickets issued, 28 were for drivers who committed seatbelt violations. The remaining 29 citations were for distracted driving, speeding and other traffic violations.
“We can’t stress it enough: impaired driving is a deadly gamble, no matter where you
live,” Woodridge Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement.

Stefanson added, “Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or any other drug, driving impaired is illegal, irresponsible and puts lives at risk — yours, your passengers’ and everyone else’s on the road. That’s why we do this.”
The safety campaign, which began Dec. 12, was part of the statewide "Click It or Ticket," "Drive High. Get a DUI" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" initiatives.
