Flu Cases Spike In DuPage County As 2026 Begins
As of Jan. 2, influenza cases here categorized as high and rising, according to DuPage County Health Department.
DUPAGE COUNTY —Flu cases are on the rise in DuPage County as the new year begins, following an upward trend throughout the state.
As of Jan. 2, DuPage County Health Department showed that flu cases were at a "high" level. Cases of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and coronavirus were ranked at a "low" level, but were rising, per DCHD.

Six people have been hospitalized in intensive care (ICU) in DuPage County between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27. During the 2025-26 flu season, 33 people had been admitted to ICU and. three people had died from symptoms related to influenza.
As of Jan. 6, flu cases were "very high" in Illinois, according to the Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
