Rotary Club's 13th Annual Mini Triathlon This Sunday

Chicagoland's largest mini triathlon draws hundreds of athletes, both adults and kids, to Woodridge.

The event that draws hundreds of athletes, both adults and kids, to will step off Sunday at  and the surrounding area.

There will be two races: a main race and the kids race.

The main race, which consists of a 250-yard swim (10 pool lengths), 6.2-mile bike ride and a 2-mile run, begins at 7 a.m., with athlete check-in starting at 5:45 a.m.

The kids race, for ages 7 to 12, consists of a 100-yard swim (four pool lengths), 3.1-mile bike ride and a one-mile run. That race will begin at 10:30 a.m., with athlete check-in starting at 9:30 a.m.

More than 700 athletes participated in last year's event.

Rates for the main race are $50 for individuals and $40 per team member.  Race fee includes official timing by Race Time, Inc., athletic T-shirt, water, food snacks, sponsor giveaways, and awards. Vendors will also be on-site to provide support services and offer their products throughout the day's event. For kids, rates are $40 for individuals individual and $30 per team member, and includes  official timing by Race Time, Inc., T-shirt, water, food snacks, sponsor giveaways, and awards.
