The woman attacked in her home on Saturday afternoon in Willowbrook was home alone packing gifts and decorations to take to her mother’s birthday party, according to police. She suffered six broken bones in her face, 17 stab wounds, including some to her face, and remains in intensive care.
The man approached in a dark blue Nissan Altima, asked her for money and then forced his way into her home in the 700 block of 73rd Court. The 26-year-old woman fought back desperately, her father has told reporters, but her wounds were severe.
The suspect is black, 5-foot-10-inches, 160 to 180 pounds and is in his 30s, according to the police description. He wore a blue shirt, dark khaki shorts and white socks. He wears dreadlock curls and was unshaven, police said. His car is a late-model Nissan Altima with tinted windows, a sunroof and no front license plate.

After the attacker left, the woman was able to run to a neighbor’s house where someone called 911.
Her father spoke with WGN News on Saturday.
“I did see her and she is beat up real bad. No father should have to see their daughter like that or see another human being like that it was pretty much an animalistic job. She was aware I was there, I told her I loved her,” the father told WGN. “She said ‘Daddy, I fought as hard as I could.’ ”
