The Woodridge Park District does not allow nor permit ice skating or ice fishing on District owned/managed ponds and lakes due to safety reasons. Frequent extreme freeze/thaw temperature fluctuations combined with the draining of road salt into the ponds/lakes, typically prevents the minimum six inches of ice thickness recommended to maintain safe ice of an entire pond/lake surface. Please discourage anyone from accessing a District pond/lake during the winter period and if assistance is needed please contact either the Park District at 630-353-3400 (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) or call 9-1-1.
