Woodridge Sees Little Impact From Heavy Rains

This morning's downpour snarled traffic but left Woodridge relatively unscathed

Despite the early morning rain and thunder which wreaked havoc on commutes, Woodridge escaped relatively unharmed.

“Given the intensity and duration of the storm, there was very little impact from the resulting from the downpour,” said Jack Knight, management analyst for the Village of Woodridge.

Knight said there was standing water on Woodridge Drive and Westview Lane for about 15 minutes, and standing water near catch basins during the storm and shortly afterward in various areas around the village.

The Woodridge Police Department said there were a few cars which stalled out after driving through some of the more flooded streets.

“But there were no major accidents,” said Kate Croteau, management analyst for the Woodridge Police Department.
