Woodridge To Take Part In Harvest Week Food Drive

Harvest Week is a donation drive for holiday food items and toys. Village officials are encouraging residents to contribute.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The Village of Woodridge is partnering with the West Suburban Community Pantry for Harvest Week.

Harvest Week is a donation drive for holiday food items and toys. Over the past seven months, village officials said the demand for the pantry has virtually doubled, and they are starting to see the need rise again.

Village officials are encouraging residents to pack the pantry and provide nourishment for neighbors in need to the drop off site near village hall, which is at 5 Plaza Dr. in Woodridge.

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. there will be drop off boxes staged outside in the second parking level behind the library.

Requested items include: canned or instant gravy, cranberries/cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie filling & other dessert mixes, other holiday food items, new toys (age 0-12 years), new books, turkeys & hams, boxed stuffing, and boxed potatoes.
