Ruth “Tootie” Hester, age 99 of Aledo, IL formerly of Plano, IL passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo, IL.
She was born on January 27, 1913, Gillette, WY, the daughter of John and Clara (Hosp) Hill.

Ruth was united in marriage to Fred H. Neece, the father of her son, until his passing. She was later united in marriage to Donald Hester until his passing on August of 1992.
Mrs. Hester was formerly employed by Western Electric, Montgomery, IL. Ruth was a member of the Women of the Moose Club and the American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Mary Ann) Neece, Andalusia, IL; her five grandsons, Gerald (Janet) Neece Jr., Fred (Carol) Neece, Phillip (Shona) Neece, Don Neece and Michael (Amiee) Neece; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Floyd “Dutch” (Ruth) Hill, Plano, IL; her sister, Lorene Barnes, Plano, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Hill; her first husband, Fred H. Neece; her second husband, Donald Hester; her three brothers, Louis, Harlan and Ernest Hill; and her two sisters, Sally Presnell and Odelia Griffin.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street, Plano, IL. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.
Friends may visit from noon until the Hour of Service, Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at the Funeral Home, Plano, IL.
