Charges Pending Against Student In Bristol Bay School Threat: YPD

According to a release, the Yorkville Police Department and Yorkville CUSD 115 want to assure parents that the threat wasn't credible. ​

YORKVILLE, IL — Disorderly conduct charges are pending against a Bristol Bay Elementary School student accused of making physical threats to students and staff during gym class Wednesday at the Yorkville school, located at 427 Bristol Bay Drive, according to a release from the Yorkville Police Department. School administration responded to the incident involving the sixth-grade student at 1:30 p.m, and the police department was quickly contacted to help investigate, the release said.

The parents of the student accused in the incident and parents of the student witnesses were interviewed during the investigation, police said.

In a joint statement Wednesday, Yorkville Community School District 115 and the Yorkville Police Department said it's safe for parents and students to "follow their normal school schedule" Thursday, and want to assure parents that the threat wasn't credible.

According to the release, the school district and police also said they appreciate the students who reported the threat to school officials, and maintaining a safe school environment is their priority.
