Child Found Dead In Pool: Yorkville Police

First responders administered life-saving measures, but the child was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to police.

YORKVILLE, IL — A child was found dead in a pool Saturday in the 2500 block of South Cannonball Trail, Yorkville police said.

The Yorkville Police Department is investigating a child's death after officers responded at 5:50 p.m. to the area to find them unresponsive in the pool, according to a news release.

Police began administering life-saving measures until Bristol Kendall E.M.S. arrived and took over. The child was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center and was pronounced dead.No charges have been filed as of Monday morning, police said."The Yorkville Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and all those affected by this tragic loss," police wrote in a news release.
