Costco Could Open In Yorkville: Mayor Reveals Application
Currently, the Costco nearest to the Yorkville area is on the east side of Plainfield.
YORKVILLE, IL — Costco Wholesale could come to Yorkville, Mayor John Purcell announced on Friday.
The company is looking to open a store on the northwest corner of Veterans Parkway and East Countryside Parkway, according to a Facebook post from the mayor. Purcell said he was "thankful to announce" that a Costco representative, Stephen Cross, applied for a planned unit development, special use permit, preliminary plan and final plat for the business.

The request will be reviewed by staff and City Council in the coming months, Purcell said.
"While Costco typically does not provide announcements regarding either project start or completion dates, the City will share further details as we can," Purcell wrote.
