Driver Dies After Car Collides With Semi In Kendall Township: Sheriff
The car's sole passenger was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after the Wednesday crash, officials said.
KENDALL TOWNSHIP, IL — A driver died Wednesday after their car collided with a semi-truck near the intersection of Route 47 and Walker Road in Kendall Township, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office is investigating the collision that occurred at about 11:56 a.m. Wednesday. A car was driving east on Walker Road, entered the Route 47 intersection and collided with a southbound semi, the preliminary investigation showed, officials said.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and the sole passenger was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was evaluated by paramedics and released at the scene.

The driver's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to a news release.
Illinois State Police investigators responded to assist the sheriff's office with the investigation and reconstruct the crash. The roadway was closed for about 4.5 hours as a result.

The Yorkville Police Department, Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District, Illinois Department of Transportation, Kendall Township and the Kendall County Coroner’s Office also assisted.
The crash remains under investigation. Officials said they will release additional information as it becomes available.
