Montgomery Man Sentenced To Forty Years In State Prison For Area Burglaries

It took coordinated efforts by the Aurora, Montgomery and Yorkville departments to bring Christopher M. Sullivan to justice.

MONTGOMERY, IL - A Montgomery man was sentenced to 40 years in state prison after pleading guilty on May 10 for a series of burglaries in February of 2016.

Christopher M. Sullivan, 45, of the 1300 block of Hinckley Street, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for each burglary as a Class X felony by the Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis. The sentences are to be served concurrently, according to Kendall County Now.

  • On Feb. 1, 2016, Sullivan broke into a restaurant on Stagecoach Trail, Route 71, in Yorkville, using a brick to break a window, and removed the cash register, according to police.
  • On Feb. 2, 2016, Sullivan used a baseball bat to break the glass window of the entry door to a sandwich restaurant located in the 2000 block of Orchard Road in Montgomery, police said. Sullivan then removed the business's cash register and fled the scene, according to reports.
  • On Feb. 14, 2016, Sullivan broke into a tobacco store and a pizza restaurant, both located in the 2000 block of Orchard Road, and removed or destroyed the cash registers and took cash.

Sullivan was charged with four counts of burglary for each incident following an investigation by the Aurora, Montgomery, and Yorkville police departments, Weis said.
