Obituary: Rose Mary Kodrick

Rose worked for Wrigley Confectionary Manufacturing in Yorkville for 30 years, retiring in 2003.

Rose Mary Kodrick, age 73, of Joliet, IL passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at AMITA Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. She was born June 2, 1948, in Cookeville, TN to the late Cecil and Willie Flatt.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Henry “Hank” Kodrick; her loving children, Tracy (Christina) Kodrick, Brian (Judy Edwards) Kodrick, and Jeffrey (Angela) Kodrick; her adoring grandchildren, Tyler, Kaeli, Jacob, and Lauren Kodrick; dear brother, Robert (Theresa) Flatt; and dear sisters, Kathy (John) Scott and Bernice (the late Lou)Vargas. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; and her special dog, Charles.

Rose grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central High School. She worked for Wrigley Confectionary Manufacturing in Yorkville for 30 years, retiring in 2003.

Rose will be remembered for baking the best cookies! She also enjoyed working in her yard and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. Rose had the biggest heart and was always caring for everyone and animals. She was the “Best Nana”, enjoyed playing and learning all the video game systems with her grandchildren, with her favorite video game being “Animal Crossing.”

Visitation for Rose Kodrick will be Tuesday, October 12, 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 13, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Use of facial masks is required at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
