Head-On Crash Closes Route 126 Near Old Grove Road: State Police

The road was closed for an "extended period of time," the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said Thursday morning.

YORKVILLE, IL — A "serious traffic crash" occurred Thursday morning on Route 126 in unincorporated NaAuSay Township, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

A car and a commercial vehicle collided head-on on Route 126, east of Old Grove Road, at about 7:17 a.m. Both drivers were injured and transported to an area hospital, Trooper Josh Robinson told Patch.

All east and westbound lanes on the state route were shut down between Grove Road and Schlapp Road while Illinois State Police investigated the crash.

"The road will likely be closed for an extended period of time," the Kendall County Sheriff's Office initially said. "Please find an alternate route."
