Indiana Man Wins $3.5 Million In Lottery
An Indiana man won millions thanks to a humble scratch-off card.
GREENWOOD, IN — There’s a saying that you’ve got to spend money to make money, and that was certainly true last week for one lucky lottery player in Indiana.
At $50 a ticket, the $4 Million Fortune game costs a bit more than the average scratch-off, but it’s nothing compared to the $3.52 million prize won May 11 by Hoosier Lottery player Joseph Didion. Didion bought the winning game at a Meijer in Greenwood, according to the lottery.
While there’s a 1 in 3.22 chance of winning something when playing a $4 Million Fortune game, the likelihood of taking home the top prize is less than 1 in 1.9 million, according to the lottery. Winners can either receive the full $4 million over 20 years or take a slightly lower lump sum all at once, which is what Didion chose to do.
