Retiring Carmel Clay Historical Society director thankful for community collaboration (youarecurrent.com) — Carmel residents will soon see a leadership change at the Carmel Clay Historical Society, as longtime educator and community volunteer Debbie Gangstad retires at year’s end after guiding the new Carmel Clay History Museum into reality. Backed by Clay Township, the City of Carmel, and many local partners, the museum has welcomed over 20,000 visitors since opening in 2024, and Gangstad plans to stay involved as a volunteer.
   

2. Carmel Redevelopment Commission to move public meeting start time earlier in the day (youarecurrent.com) — Starting in 2026, the Carmel Redevelopment Commission will shift its regular public meetings from 6:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month to save on staffing and security costs. Other major bodies like the Carmel Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, City Council, and Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation will keep evening meetings, while some boards are still finalizing 2026 schedules and projected savings.

IndyStar HS football Super Team 2025: Check out Central Indiana's best (indystar.com) — Several Carmel Greyhounds earned spots on IndyStar’s 2025 Central Indiana high school football Super Team, including record-setting quarterback Drew Coellner, standout running back Pemberton, linebacker Bathurst, and others. The list showcases how Carmel’s turnaround to a 9-2 season was driven by big individual performances and growing college interest in local players.
   

4. IU Health, Franciscan announce visitor restrictions amid surge in flu & RSV (wishtv.com) — Visitor rules have tightened at Franciscan Health’s Carmel hospital due to rising flu and RSV cases, limiting visitors to healthy adults and restricting hours. IU Health and other central Indiana systems are also imposing similar age and illness-related limits, so families should check hospital policies before heading to see loved ones.
   

5. Carmel man charged in I-465 road rage case (wishtv.com) — A Carmel resident has been charged after an early-morning road rage incident that began on I-465 and continued into a neighborhood near Carmel’s border with Indianapolis. Carmel Police, working with Fishers and Indianapolis officers, used search warrants and a tactical team before arresting the suspect, who now faces multiple felony firearm and intimidation charges and a $75,000 bail.
