Police investigating fight involving juveniles at Carmel Clay Public Library (wthr.com) — Police temporarily evacuated Carmel Clay Public Library on Tuesday after a fight involving several juveniles drew an unusually large crowd of up to 1,000 people in and around the building. Carmel police reported only minor injuries and no one needed to be taken to the hospital, but neighbors said the chaotic scene was highly unusual for the normally quiet library.
   

2. Carmel Clay Schools appoints 2 elementary school administrators (youarecurrent.com) — Carmel Clay Schools has named new assistant principals for Mohawk Trails and Clay Center elementary schools, with both leaders starting next month as the second semester begins. Jennifer Hamilton moves into the Mohawk Trails role, while longtime Carmel educator Kristen Cannady becomes interim assistant principal at Clay Center. Both emphasize supporting a welcoming, high-achieving environment for local students and families.
   

3. Carmel player earns state's top linebacker award (youarecurrent.com) — Carmel High School linebacker Dane Bathurst has been named Indiana’s Mr. Football Position Award winner at linebacker after a standout single season with the Greyhounds. The senior transfer from Tampa posted 65 tackles and seven sacks, helped reshape team culture, and will graduate early to join the University of Oklahoma. His cousins and fellow Greyhounds Anthony and Drake Coellner are also drawing major college attention.
   

4. Carmel widower works with Walmart to give unused, returned Legos to hospitals across the country (wthr.com) — A Carmel widower is turning grief into generosity by partnering with Walmart to send thousands of unused, returned Lego sets from its Greenfield return center to children’s hospitals, including Riley in Indianapolis. Inspired and encouraged by his late wife Lorie, Steven Graves’ idea is now delivering pallets of Lego kits to brighten hospital stays for kids across the country.
   

5. Metropolitan Youth Ballet receives Indiana Arts Commission grant to expand dance programming (wrtv.com) — A Carmel High School sophomore is starring as Clara in Metropolitan Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker, backed by a new Indiana Arts Commission grant that will expand youth dance programs. While performances are in Zionsville, the funding and training directly benefit Carmel-area dancers and other Central Indiana communities.
