PD taps Waze to alert drivers during pursuits, traffic stops and emergencies (gov1.com) — Carmel drivers using the Waze app will now get real-time alerts when Carmel police vehicles are nearby responding to emergencies, traffic stops, or pursuits, helping them slow down and move over safely. The new Pursuit Alert system is installed in nearly all Carmel patrol cars, covers about a 1.5-mile radius, and was funded through the department’s seizure fund rather than local tax dollars.
   

• Athlete of the week: Patience paying off for Carmel High School senior basketball player (youarecurrent.com) — Carmel High School senior forward Evan Harrell is leading the unbeaten Greyhounds with improved patience, averaging nearly 18 points and 9 rebounds while eyeing a long-awaited sectional title.
