PD taps Waze to alert drivers during pursuits, traffic stops and emergencies (police1.com) — If you drive in Carmel, your Waze app can now warn you when Carmel Police vehicles are nearby responding to emergencies, traffic stops, or pursuits. The new Pursuit Alert system, installed in most patrol cars, aims to reduce roadside crashes by prompting drivers within about 1.5 miles to slow down, move over, and stay alert, funded through seizure money rather than taxes.
