• Six Lake County Jail Inmates Charged After Coordinated Assault Inside Jail (regionnewssource.org) — Six inmates at the Lake County Jail in Crown Point have been charged after investigators say a coordinated September assault left another inmate with serious injuries, including eye and head trauma. Surveillance footage and court records describe multiple attackers, alleged extortion over commissary items, and threats that reportedly kept the victim from speaking up immediately. Charges range from robbery to criminal confinement and intimidation.
