Vernon soccer standout Charlie Cole capped his high school career by earning back-to-back Daily Reporter Boys Soccer Athlete of the Year honors despite a serious shoulder injury. The senior forward returned from a Grade 3 AC joint separation to finish with 26 goals this season, 65 for his career, and now plans to shift his focus to collegiate track and academics.
   

• Emma Jean Musselman (greenfieldreporter.com) — Fortville readers are remembering 98-year-old Emma Jean Musselman, who spent many years living in town and even led a local Brownie troop before later moving to McCordsville. Visitation is set for Tuesday, Dec. 16, with funeral services Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Her life centered on family, church, and community involvement across Fortville, Mohawk, and McCordsville.
