• Purdue University Northwest invites community members to join 2026 MLK Day events (wimsradio.com) — Hammond residents are invited to Purdue University Northwest’s free MLK Day celebration on Jan. 15, 2026, at Alumni Hall on the Hammond campus, featuring keynote speaker and PNW alumnus Shontrai Irving. A second program with a free breakfast follows Jan. 19 at the Westville campus, offering additional speakers and performances for those who want to honor Dr. King’s legacy.
