  1. An east side burglary ended with one of the suspects shot by the homeowner on Friday. According to police, a resident walked in on two burglars in their apartment just before 8 a.m. in the 20 block of Wallace Lane (off of Washington Street) just outside of Irvington. One suspect, a 14-year-old, was shot and taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health with non-life-threatening injuries; the other suspect got away. (FOX 59 Indianapolis)
  2. An Indianapolis-raised R&B artist will be releasing a new single on May 20. DeJuan Davie, who goes by the stage name Young Juan, performs sophisticated urban music, blues-based with sometimes humorous lyrics, and upbeat rhythms. Watch Young Juan perform "I Wanna Know" at the link and look out for his new single “From the Heart” next month. (WISH TV Indianapolis, IN)
  3. EmployIndy has launched a new initiative that recognizes employers throughout Marion County who offer fair wages. The new effort, called the Good Wages Initiative, is aimed at reversing the trend of people quitting their jobs because they don’t make enough money or don’t get the benefits they need. Employers that provide full-time wages of at least $18 per hour and access to health insurance benefits will be highlighted and certified as part of the new initiative. (Inside INdiana Business)
