Mayor Joe Hogsett and Superintendent Aleesia Johnson are pushing five key policy requirements, from transportation and facilities to charter oversight, that would shape any plan sent to state lawmakers.

INDOT concludes ProPEL Indy study, thanks public for guiding process (wbiw.com) — State transportation officials have wrapped up the ProPEL Indy study that will guide future changes to I-65 and I-70 inside the I-465 loop in Indianapolis, following more than two years of public input. 3. 6 former IU Indianapolis men's basketball players sue university over alleged abuse they suffered under now-fired coach Paul Corsaro (fox59.com) — Six former IU Indianapolis men’s basketball players have filed a lawsuit in Marion County accusing the university of allowing a now-fired coach’s alleged physical and emotional abuse to continue through the 2024–25 season. The suit claims serious mental health impacts, lost scholarships and NIL income, and failures by IU Indy staff to report concerns, while a separate tort claim from ex-coach Paul Corsaro challenges his firing.
   

4. Volunteers of Indy Peace help gun violence victims recover and choose peace (wishtv.com) — Indy Peace volunteers are meeting gunshot victims at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, offering counseling, de-escalation skills, and help returning to school or work. Working with IMPD’s Gun Violence Reduction strategy, the program reports big drops in homicides and nonfatal shootings, aiming to help high‑risk 16‑ to 34‑year‑olds choose peace instead of retaliation.
