Here are the top three stories in Indianapolis today:
- Beginning Sunday, dental, optical and general medical services will be provided for free to the public for four days. The event, hosted at Lucas Oil Stadium, will operate during daytime hours and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Your Best Pathway to Health, the nonprofit organizing the event, says that providing preventative treatment is essential to help uninsured and under-insured individuals. (Indianapolis Recorder)
- Police responded to two shootings reported within two minutes of one another Thursday. A shooting at the 2900 block of N. Sherman Drive was reported at 2:43 a.m. and another, separate shooting was reported at 2:45 a.m. One man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after the two shootings. Officers have not identified any suspects, and have asked anyone with information to come forward. (CBS 4)
- Could Indy be the next great food city? Food & Wine thinks so. Indianapolis made the list of the seven "most exciting up-and-coming big cities for food lovers."
