Here are the top three stories in Indianapolis today:

  1. Mayor Hogsett of Indianapolis tested positive for COVID-19 this past weekend. The Mayor is at home isolating and resting as per CDC guidelines. Mayor Hogsett learned he was positive after taking a home test, but claims that he is experiencing mild symptoms "thanks to [his] vaccine and booster shot." He encourages Indianapolis residents to get their vaccines and boosters to help protect against the more critical COVID-19 symptoms. (WISH TV Indianapolis, IN)
  2. After two years, veterans were given the opportunity to take an Honor Flight, an event that was put on hold due to COVID-19. Honor Flights allow veterans to fly over memorials that were built in their honor. Over the weekend, 86 Hoosier Heroes were welcomed back to Indianapolis after returning from their Honor Flight. Because the program was put on hold, there's currently a waiting list for Honor Flights that the Indy Honor Flight organization hopes to tackle this year by providing three or four more flights than normal. (CBS 4 Indianapolis)
  3. The saying goes that April showers bring May flowers, but for Indianapolis, those showers might consist of snow, not rain this week. CBS 4 reports the possibility of snow today until 10:00 a.m., though Indianapolis residents may just get rain if it warms up overnight. (CBS 4 Indianapolis)
