Here are the top three stories today in Indianapolis:
- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested an alleged serial bank robber. According to an announcement on Wednesday, IMPD detained 54-year-old Sierra Hunt, who later admitted to her role in four bank robberies, after detectives found a car that matched the description of a possible suspect vehicle. Hunt has been accused of robbing four Chase Banks on Apr. 9, 11, 13, and 15. (FOX 59 Indianapolis)
- A team of Indianapolis healthcare workers treated patients in Kenya with blood disorders. In mid-April, a team of local healthcare workers from Indianapolis Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center spent two weeks helping between 150 to 200 patients. The team trained with local medical staff to treat hemophilia, a genetic disorder that more than 4,000 people in Kenya suffer from, which prevents blood clots from forming after a wound. - An Indianapolis mother had her son's ashes stolen last week and is pleading for their return. According to Kayla Goding’s partner, she was working at the Dollar General at 2001 W. Washington St. on Apr. 22 when a male customer stole her wallet, which held a necklace with a charm containing her son’s ashes. Goding has asked for whoever is in possession of the charm to return it to a Safe Haven location on the west side of Indianapolis or contact her via email at kaylagoding769@gmail.com.
