Squared Circle Expo III Is 6 Months Away

Kurt Angle is the first announced guest for SCX III coming April 7-8 to the Wyndham Indianapolis West.

Oh it's true. It's darn true. Kurt Angle was just announced as the first wrestling guest at Squared Circle Expo III coming to Indianapolis in six months. SCX III looks to be even bigger and better than the previous two and that is a lofty bar to reach.

Debuting in 2020, SCX was a major success, despite dealing with the pandemic. SCX II earlier this year kicked it up a notch. Anticipation for SCE III is already at a fever pitch.

SCX is a two day pro wrestling convention, featuring meet and greets, Q&As, panels, photo ops, vendors and much more. Each day ends with a full live wrestling card.

Angle was the first announced guest, but he will be followed by many more over the next six months. Last year, the wrestler guest lineup numbered about 70. There were major stars from the past and present, from every wrestling company. I have never seen a group of convention guests more fan-friendly. I have also never seen a group stay at their tables as much as these wrestlers. Unless they were at other events within the convention, every wrestler was available for meet and greets the entire time. The only exceptions were wrestlers who had previous commitments, but SCX promoters kept attendees notified of any such instances.

Speaking of the promoters, this bunch is special. They are hands-on, omnipresent. The convention ran as smoothly as possible, but the promoters and their staff were at the ready for any issues that might arise.

On The Johngy “OR ELSE” podcast, my podcast partner Tommy Else and I interviewed Hardcore Heather Owens, one of the promoters, along with husband Ed Gonzales and Adolfo and Carrie Dorta. You won't meet four finer people, nor harder workers, nor fun folks.

Heather discussed SCX III and other fun topics. Heather talked about Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling!, a drag and wrestling extravaganza she is also promoting. That runs November 4 in Cincinnati.

Angle is a huge name to start the wrestler announcements, but I have no doubt, he will be followed by many other impressive names. Over the last two years, I have met legends including Kane, Ricky Steamboat, the Steiner Brothers, Goldust and Lex Luger. I also met current stars like Britt Baker, Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green and Danhausen. There were even rising stars such as Skye Blue, Billie Starkz, Shawna Reed and Kal Herro.

Previous years featured one night of wrestling, but that has been increased to both nights this year. That's twice as much mat action. My buddy Tony Feddeler and I agreed, SCX put on some of the greatest matches we have seen.

SCX takes over the Wyndham Indianapolis West, Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8. Tickets are selling fast. It took less than two days to sell out the World Champion VIP passes. Main Event (Deluxe Weekend) passes and Single Day passes are still available. I made sure to secure my ticket already and I encourage everyone to get their ticket ASAP, as tickets are selling quickly. As more guests are added, ticket sales will increase.

As always, I will be "On the Beat" at SCX III. Until then, I will provide updates as announcements are made. I do not work for SCXIII, but I am a big supporter and want to spread the word so even more folks join the fun. Check back here for my updates and more news.
