Drunk Driver struck an Indiana State Police car; Trooper Injured (wtreradio.com) β€” An Indiana State Trooper was injured early this morning on I-465 near Allisonville Road in Indianapolis when his cruiser, blocking a jackknifed semi, was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver. The trooper has been released from the hospital, while the Indianapolis driver was arrested on an operating while intoxicated causing injury charge, marking the third time this trooper’s been hit by an impaired driver.

IMPD increasing patrols near Indianapolis synagogues in wake of antisemitic attack in Australia (fox59.com) β€” Indianapolis police are stepping up patrols around local synagogues and Jewish community centers during Hanukkah in response to a deadly antisemitic attack in Australia. IMPD and Jewish community leaders stress there’s no specific local threat but say extra visibility is a precaution to protect central Indiana’s Jewish residents. Hanukkah observances here continue through Dec. 22.

Balloon release held for Indianapolis man killed in shooting at Kentucky State University (fox59.com) β€” Friends and family gathered outside Victory College Prep on Indianapolis’ east side Sunday to release balloons honoring 19-year-old De’Jon Fox Jr., an Indianapolis native killed in a shooting at Kentucky State University. Despite frigid, snowy conditions, a large crowd came to remember the upbeat former Victory College Prep student and support his grieving loved ones.

White House denies Trump threatened Indiana with funding cuts over redistricting (wishtv.com) β€” From Indianapolis, the White House is pushing back on claims that President Trump threatened to cut Indiana’s federal funding if lawmakers rejected his preferred congressional maps. State senators instead passed a bipartisan plan, drawing sharp criticism and primary threats from Trump, Gov. Mike Braun, and conservative activists toward Republicans who opposed the redistricting proposal.

Wizards have rare showing on defense in win over Pacers (statenews.net) β€” A rough shooting night for the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis ended with a 108-89 home loss to the Washington Wizards, who dominated the boards and held Indiana under 90 points.
