Wayne County prosecutors seek $3K forfeiture from Richmond bar owner (pal-item.com) — Wayne County prosecutors are seeking to seize $3,526 connected to operations at The Lounge, a Richmond venue whose owner also runs 9 One-One Tavern. Investigators say undercover officers observed alcohol sales without a license and other suspected illegal activity, though no criminal charges had been filed as of Tuesday. Richmond police say the owner and a security worker were arrested during a recent multi-agency raid.

3. Man dies after being hit by multiple vehicles along U.S. 35 in southeast Indiana (wlwt.com) — A man was struck and killed by multiple vehicles early Wednesday on U.S. 35 in front of the Love’s Truck Stop north of Richmond, with Wayne County deputies still working to identify him. Investigators say poor visibility around 6 a.m. may have contributed, and intoxication is not currently suspected, though lab tests are pending. The crash remains under active investigation.

4. 69-year-old accused of causing deadly motorcycle crash arrested (whio.com) — Richmond police and U.S. Marshals arrested a 69-year-old man in the 100 block of South 7th Street on Wednesday in connection with an out-of-state fatal motorcycle crash. Authorities say he was wanted on serious charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and drug trafficking, and Richmond’s police chief emphasized the city will not be a refuge for violent offenders.

5. Indiana lawmakers want to ban students' cell phones for the entire school day (wvxu.org) — Indiana lawmakers are considering a tougher cell phone ban that would keep students’ devices put away for the entire school day, and Richmond Sen. Jeff Raatz is leading the push. The bill would end “bring your own device” classroom use, extend rules to smartwatches, and require phones to stay inaccessible until dismissal, with possible state funding for storage pouches. Changes would start in the 2026–27 school year if approved.
