The South Bend Community School Corporation has announced a leadership transition at Washington High School pending approval by the School Board. Thomas Sims, the school's current principal, has agreed to return to Dickinson Fine Arts Academy in the fall of 2022 and lead the school's turnaround efforts. Mr. Sims' new role will assist in the reform and realignment of the middle school as we engage in a secondary redesign for academic outcomes.

We are grateful for Mr. Sims' service to Washington and believe he is the right person to lead the turnaround efforts at Dickinson. We are thrilled he has agreed to this new challenge.
The district will begin conducting a national search to find a highly experienced and qualified leader whose values and priorities align with the district's mission and vision.
