Some Closures, Traffic Changes Will Come With January Sewer Work

Work is scheduled to begin next month to improve the capacity of a section of Zionsville's existing sewer system.

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- Work is scheduled to begin next month to improve capacity on a section of Zionsville's existing sewer system.

Crews from Calumet Civil Contractors, Inc., will break ground on or after Jan. 2, 2018, on storm sewer improvements along Third Street, from Oak to Walnut streets, officials announced this week. They will also be revamping a similar system on Second Street, just north of Cedar. Construction will include replacing aging and undersized storm sewers currently installed along those corridors.

"The project is expected to be completed in the spring but the pace of construction will be weather dependent," officials said, in a town notice. "Area roads will remain open during construction though some temporary closures and traffic limitations are expected throughout the project."
