2 Women Killed In Ames Church Parking Lot; Gunman Also Dead
No one else was injured and there was no ongoing threat following the shooting, according to media reports.

AMES, IA — A man fatally shot two women and then killed himself Thursday in the parking lot of a church in Ames, according to the Des Moines Register.
Authorities received numerous 911 calls at 6:51 p.m. reporting the shooting outside Cornerstone Church, the Register reported. Dozens were attending a college-based program at the church at the time of the shooting, but no one else was injured, according to KCCI News.
The church's community for college students, The Salt Company, had an event scheduled for 7 p.m. in the South Auditorium, according to the group's Facebook page.

Law enforcement told KCCI News there was no ongoing public threat, extended condolences to the victims' families, and noted information may change throughout the investigation, which is being led by the Story County Sheriff's Office.
It appeared the gunman had died after shooting himself, the Register reported. A news conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, according to the Register.
