UPDATE: Ames Child Struck on Bicycle Tuesday
A 5-year-old boy was taken to a Des Moines hospital for injuries.

A 5-year-old Ames boy who was struck while riding a bicycle about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on North Dakota Avenue near Toronto Street, suffered a concussion and a possible facial fracture, according to Ames police.
The boy, Aron Hampton, son of Ricky and Jessica Hampton, reportedly darted out in front of a southbound car. He was flown to Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines.
According to the Ames Police Department call report, the boy was conscious after the accident. Â

Ames Police Cmdr. Jim Robinson said the boy suffered a concussion and may have had a facial fracture. The accident report had not yet been completed by 10 a.m. Wednesday.
