Ames Man Cited After Vehicle Crash

An Ames man has been charged in a vehicle crash that happened about 5 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and 170^th Street, a release from the Story County Sheriff stated.

Timothy Payton, Ames, was driving west on 170^th Street when he pulled into the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and was struck by another vehicle driven by Kari Overholser, of Story City, who was driving north on U.S. Highway 69, a release stated. Payton received a citation for failure to yield upon entering a highway. Two passengers in Overholser's vehicle, Tony Kinyon and Rhylie Kinyon of Story City were transported by ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center for “non-incapacitating injuries,” according to the release.
