Ames Patch Visited the North Grand Farmers' Market, Did We Spot You?

North Grand Farmers Market outside North Grand Mall is from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through November.

The Farmers' Market at the is just starting to get into full swing. Vendors are in the North Grand Mall parking lot, just outside , from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through November.

About 32 vendors have signed up to participate, but visitors will find that a majority of vendors come out on Saturdays when less people are at work.

, who coordinates the market, said his sweet corn should be about ready in a week. Vendors will bring out more vegetables as they come available. Recently vendors offered fresh cut flowers, squash and cucumbers, kohlrabi, onions and more.

Joyce Fisher, of Fisher's Flowers & Produce, said several of her tomato varieties are also ready. And Red Granite Farms plans to bring a bundle of perennials Saturday.
