Ames Police Are Watching You. Want to Know What They Are Looking For?

Ames Police Department is conducting a special traffic enforcement through June 3.

If you plan on driving through Ames, you can bet that the police will be watching.

The Ames Police Department is taking part in a special traffic enforcement with funds provided by the Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau. Officers will be scrutinizing drivers for seatbelt use through June 3.

Last year 360 motorists were killed in crashes on Iowa roadways and 115 of those people were not wearing seatbelts, a press release from the department stated.
