Ames Police Arrest Five Over Weekend

Weekend arrests in Ames were relatively light according to the latest report from the Ames Police Department.

May 13

Tyler Critchlow, 18, Des Moines, was charged with a controlled substance violation, at 5:15 a.m.

Wayne Sander, 21, Stanton Avenue, was charged with public intoxication, at 4:34 a.m.

Wynand Van Jaarasveld, 24, Wilson Avenue, was charged with public intoxication at 2:55 a.m.

May 14

Matthew Chenchar, 24, Sixth Street, was charged with unlawful possession of prescription drug and possession of a controlled substance, at 4 p.m.

Samuel Hermanson, 23, Sheldon Avenue, was charged with public intoxication, first offense at 4 p.m.
