Ames Public Library Director Announces He Will Leave His Position
The Board of Trustees plans to meet tonight for a presentation on the library's latest design plans.

Director Art Weeks, announced that he would retire from his position effective Friday.
Weeks, who started working for the library in 2006, said that the timing the library renewal project was a key factor in his decision.
“We have settled the issues of location, scale, cost, and design. We achieved the confidence and the support of a community committed to the Library Renewal Project,” Weeks said. “I am pleased that the project has kept to its schedule. We are at a point of transition that I am confident the project can be properly managed by the Library Board of Trustees and key library administrative staff,” Weeks said in a prepared statement.
