Ames Salvation Army Service Center Needs Food

The new Salvation Army Service Center reports that it is in need of donations.

The new Salvation Army Service Center in Ames has been busy helping hungry families and needs your help in keeping people full.

This month the center served more than 110 individuals from its food pantry and more than 900 people in a Feed The Children food distribution.

Now, however, the food pantry shelves are nearly bare.

Cari McPartland, director of the Ames Service Center, said in a press release that all that remains on the food pantry shelves is canned vegetables and pasta. The center needs a wide range of canned and packaged goods.

The pantry will also take eggs and fresh produce from area farmers and gardeners.
