Ames Superintendent, Ames High Senior Recognized
Two more prestigious awards for Ames Community Schools.

The honors for keep coming. Earlier in the week named Ames High School third best high school in the state. Now Ames Community School District Superintendent Tim Taylor has been awarded with a university consortium for excellence in education leadership award. And Senior Ezgi Ustundag has been named a presidential scholar by the U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
Iowa State University presented Taylor's UCEA award. The superintendent has been involved in education for more than 40 years and has worked with ISU as an adjunct instructor for the Human Resources class, a release on the award stated.
Ustundag, one of 3 million students expected to graduate this year, earned the national award for her performance on college entrance exams, artistic excellence, essays, community service and more.

Ustundag is the 14th Ames High School student to receive the recognition. One girl and one boy are honored as presidential scholars in each state every year.
