The Amateur Radio Club participated in storm spotter training Thursday March 1.

National Weather Service personnel provided SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training at the 7:00 p.m. Thursday (March 1) meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club.

The NWS program contains information about severe weather climatology, thunderstorm types, weather threats and how to identify them, how to report severe weather, spotter safety and communications. The free storm spotter training program lasts between one and two hours and is open to the public. The next business meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be April 5 at the regular time of 7:30 p.m.
