Ames Homebuilders Association Announces

2012 Scholarship Program

The Ames Home Builders Association (AHBA) is pleased to offer scholarship(s) to Ames area residents who wish to pursue an education in the home building industry and related trades. The AHBA believes a career in the home building industry can be a rewarding endeavor and hopes to encourage area youth to join with us as we create homes in Central Iowa.

The Scholarship is open for use at any institution of higher learning. The student’s course of learning must be directly related to the home building industry. A portion amount (50%) will be paid directly to the school in the name of the student and the school. The AHBA will pay the second 50% at the start of the second semester of study if the student attains a GPA of C average or above during the first semester. Lower grades will be considered and reviewed for circumstances.

Any student in the Ames area (Story and Boone Counties), who is seeking an education at an institution of higher learning in a course of study directly related to the home building industry.

The Ames Home Builders Association is a not-for –profit trade organization based in Ames, but also serving the industry in and around Story and Boone counties. Our members include builders, remodelors, developers, realtors, lending institutions, sub-contractors, suppliers and other industry related groups. We all strive to better the building industry and to help others fulfill the American dream of home ownership.
